Q: What makes Spreadsheet Sage different from other programs?
A: A few things: (i) "gamified" exercises, which check your work and progress as you go; (ii) focus on speed by teaching keyboard shortcuts (zero use of the mouse); (iii) eschewing "theory" with one clean file of exercises that build sequentially; (iv) practical do's and don'ts from years of Wall Street experience, and for the Wall Street Course, iv) a "Help!" button you can always use to get yourself instantly "unstuck".
Q: I do not work in finance nor do I plan do. Is there a course for me that uses the Spreadsheet Sage method?
A: We heard you loud and clear! The Main Street Course is now available for purchase!
Q: I loved the course. Can I leave a review?
A: Please do - this is a relatively new project, and this helps us spread the word. Please email support@spreadsheetsage.com with any comments and suggestions.
Q: How long does the Course take to complete?
A: The Wall Street Course takes between 10 and 20 hours to complete, depending on your familiarity with Excel and financial topics. The Main Street Course, recently released, takes between 20 and 40 hours to complete, depending on your experience. Both are completely self-paced.
Q: When will the Main Street Course be available?
A: It is now available!
Q: What will I accomplish in the Wall Street Course?
A: You will prepare yourself for success at any finance job by becoming world class in excel.
Q: What will I accomplish in the Main Street Course?
A: You will become analytically stronger than 90% of professionals in any field.
Q: Is there a satisfaction guarantee?
A: Absolutely. If for whatever reason you aren't completely satisfied with the product, contact support@spreadsheetsage.com. We'll ask for some basic information before giving a complete refund of your purchase.
Q: Can I purchase individual levels "a la carte"?
A: We carefully designed the course to be sequential and build on itself, so do not currently offer exercises a la carte. We strongly recommend the Free Trial, which offers a mix of both courses, downloadable here.
Q: Can I "try before I buy"?
A: Yes! Go to the Try It Free page to download our Free Trial. The trial, which is a mix of Main Street and Wall Street levels, should give you a good sense for the method.
Q: Who built and contributed to this course?
A: We are current and former professionals at bulge bracket Investment Banking and Private Equity institutions, as well as startups. We were inspired to build this due to our frustration with the training resources that were available to us - we knew there was a better way.
Q: What version of excel can I use for this course?
A: All versions of PC-based Excel (2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, etc) should work just fine. However, since all shortcuts provided are for Windows, Mac use is not supported. For proper use, be sure to follow the on-screen instructions upon download of the file.
Q: Do you have a repository of useful excel formulas, shortcuts, and/or topics in the course?
A: Yes, yes, and yes! We compile all the we cover in the course, and more, on separate "index" tabs. We recommend you refer to these throughout the course, and going forward through your career. They include example formulas and practical tips.
